August 27 - september 3

Friday August, 27
Woke up at freaking 6:50 this morning due to people getting their last minute tickets for the 7:30 train. But oh well
we headed out and enjoyed some farmland riding. Even got to enjoy some dominoes pizza when we got into town at lompac.((to be
continued when i find the maps))

Monday August, 30
Got up with dad already down at the beach. I went and used the restroom and fell baCK asleep. He came back and woke me
up and we headed into L.A. L.A was fun as long as we stayed on the beach and enjoyed the sun. Got to ride the ferris wheel
in santa monica(Most fun you could ever have) and got to ride on a bicycle path right on the beach for half the day until it stopped and we had to get back
on highway one. Before there we asked a older man were to go to get on highway one and we brought him the map. He gave us some
directions and he told us not to stay around long beach becuase its the gangbangers area. I will admit that it did look
like downtown atlanta but the people were not near as bad as atlanta. We even got to ride along with two locals who were
going to long beach. They were really fast too but we kept up pretty good. After they got off the road and said good-bye
we found a hide-away at the edge of L.A on a hill called "signal hill" on the map. It has the local radio tower so my dad's
little radio can actually pick up every station now.

Tuesday August, 31
Woke up with workers on top of the building next to us but luckily we was deep inside the bushes so they couldn't see us.
After making quick haste and getting out of there as fast as we could we headed off out of L.A and into the burger king down the
street. Filled up for the morning and ready to make it too Laguna beach, we went on down the road following the ocean for a
few good miles until we reached the rich town of laguna beach were we found a macdonalds for lunch. right before it was a
ferrari/mazarati and a porsche dealership which was cool. Afterwards we rolled on dlown the road until it ran into a bike
store. There we bought a gatorade and two ice-cream drumsticks. After telling everyone were we started they were so amazed
and even took pictures of us. One of the people in the store(just a customer not working there) told us that he was actually
a world war 2 veteren that took a shot in the shoulder while his ship was trying to sink a german u-boat. He then told us
how the doctors told him he would never walk again which made him want to prove them wrong. He became very athletic and traveled
alot. He climbed to the top of the eifel tower and the notre dam church were the giant bell is. He has biked, walked, jogged,
flown above with his own plane and even sailed under the golden gate bridge. He even has a blog dedicated to all he has done
which I'm gonna check out when I can. We said good-bye to him and before we left he said "You have a really cool dad, and
remember, no one loves you like your dad does". AFter that we headed down the road and finally seen our first San Diego sign
(Green sign telling you how far away you are from the city) and we reached a rest area shortly after. During the stay we
bought some lemon cake out of the vending machines and as soon as we opened the packet a flock of birds came over and begged
for some crumbs. We started chunking some out there and I held some in my hand and lifted held it out there and a few actually landed
on my hand and started eating the crumbs. Life doesnt get much better than this. After that we headed off to find a place to
camp and fall asleep.

Wendsday September, 1
Well this is it. The last day of bike riding. We woke up and made it into San Diego. Dad decided he wanted to stay
at the same hotel he stayed in when he first started he previous bike trip. So happy to get a shower and a warm bed. plus
they had a pool to swim around in and relax the muscles.

Thursday September, 2
Biked our bikes to the bike store today and had them shipped. Then we packed all our stuff into 4 carry one bags and
got ready for the airport tomorrow.

Friday September, 3
The last day of the trip. This is it. Its finally over. Got on the plane at 12:40(california time) and stopped in
pheonix about an hour later. Should have been a 10 minute wait but engine problems occoured while it was sitting there so
we had to wait about an hour or so. Finally they brought out another plane and we was able to board again. This time
we had a nice 6 hour plane ride where I sat next to a cool woman that was a writer and she was going to the dragoncon
(big convention in atlanta) to met a author who just wrote a book which she really liked. I got to talk to her about random
nonsense until we arrived in atlanta at 11:14(Georgia time) and the ride home took 15 minutes. Finally back home. The trip
is officially over.

Word of Thanks
Thank you for sticking with the blog. As I said, the trip is now officially over and thus, the blog is now over. Please take the time to enjoy the pictures and who knows maybe another trip will happen soon. I would like to thank my uncle Clark, our freind
Jim and my Dad's dear freind Saw for helping us out with their most appreciated donations and to the faithfull readers who have stuck with the blog all the way to this point. Thanks to the family and freinds who cheered us on during the trip and kept us going even when days were unrelenting. I guess this is the last few words of the blog and I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks again and happy journeys.
