This is us with our awesome new necklaces on!
Friday July, 2.
aT 6:30 this morning Phil came over and woke us up and brought coffee and nature valley bars. Of course we were both still tired from that 7 mile straight up so we thanked him, drank the coffee and went right back to sleep. At 9:00 we woke back up and of course Phil was already gone. We packed up, eat some of those nature valley bars, and went back out ontu the road. After riding for a while we ran into a
resturuant(YAY!) which not only sold us $14 cheeseburger but had a jacuzzi for only $10 an hour. We did both and got 2 showers and a hour of a relaxing jacuzzi. Afterwords we climbed a hill so steep we actually had do the switchback trick until we finally reached the top. At the top was a trade post kinda of a store but it also had snacks and soda's. The lady there was very nice and we had a nice talk t on the front porch while we drank soda's and eat some snacks. Before we left dad bought me a early birthday present. He bought me a native style necklace made of all reall material like bone, glass and nickle. Ill show you in a picture. She also had fox tails, reall fur hats, earmuffs and headbands and full animal pelts(skins) for sell. I have her card if you want to order some(i dont know if she'll mail them to you or not you'll have to call her). Dad also got a necklace that was mostly white with purple glass beads(turns brown when on the skin. pretty cool actually. mine are orange but turns red against the skin) and we wear them everyday. After buying the necklaces we got a picture together and we took off again. A few more miles down the road we reached a lodge/bar/resturant called Gakona lodge that had a amazing resteruant. I seriously think it was one of those hidden gems of alaska. We had popcorn shrimp and had some chocolate cake before we left. We also got to watch some of the loretta lynn movie on cmt in the lobby. Afterwards we rode a few more miles until we ran into a beautiful river called Klutina river. people were out there fishing, getting into river boats and just having a good time so we set up tent beside the river and watched the seagulls swarm in and people put in and pull out riverboats all night untill we fell asleep.
Saturday july, 3.
Dad woke me up around 7 or so becuase we had to rush to the post office in Glenn Allen. We had some rough hills riding up to the town but we eventually made it. Took us awhile to find the post office but we eventually found it down a street. I also think that it was the very first pink post ever I ever did see. But after getting out box full of food and a pack of gum(thanks Tina) we rode out of town and to a visitors center where dad had some coffee and I discussed with him on how far the next towns were. After deciding which town to find a lodge at we headed off back ontu the road where the sun was hiding in the clouds. Sure enough it started to ran pretty bad so we had to find a place to camp and fast. Dad found a great place to set up tent which was a abandoned house and it had a perfect overhang to keep the rain off of us(but it wouldnt hold back the mosquitoes unfortunatly). We set up tent and not only was I able to get two days worth of blogging but was also able to go to bed early too.

Sunday July, 4.
Happy Birthday to me!!!! But any way Dad let me sleep in today till 11:00 and he made me breakfast which was grits and coffee. Also it was raining outside so we got to rest longer until the rain stopped. We didn't head back out until we heard the birds chirping which gave us a sign that the rain was going to be held back for awhile. So off we go for 30 miles down the road. We took a stop by a river to rest for a little while and we was right back to biking. We finally reached the Red Eagle Lodge and ordered a room. After waiting around and getting on the internet the lodge owners(Judy and Richard Dennis. Four Dennis's were in the same room at once can you believe it) started up a 4th of July grill out. After eating everyone sung happy birthday for me wich was so awesome. The lodge owners even gave me a birthday present and a birthday card(How awesome can it get). The birthday present was the coolest alaska hat(ill have to take a picture to show you how epic it really is) and the birthday card had a bald eagle on the front and had a note written inside of the card along with the business card for the lodge. Everyone grabbed some cake(I forgot to mention that me and dad went to a store up the street and let me pick out the cake and icing for it. I admit I had a birthday to remember) and started chowing down and of course Judy made sure i got the biggest piece(thank you Judy. Not only did she bake the cake, play a singing hamster for me but she also wrapped up my gift and birthday card for me. After the singing hamster Richard started up the birthday for me too). Judy and Richard are some of the nicest people we have met so far on our bike trip and i thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. After cake we started to shoot off bottle and m-125's in the front yard which was something else i thoroughly enjoyed also. I got everything I thought I was going to miss this year which still makes me smile to this day. After the party we all said goodnight and went to bed. Not only was the bed comfterable but also it had layers of blankets, including a down blanket) to keep you warm.
